A Terrible RPG Adventure Setting for 5E.
Chris Kitching and Lou DiDomenico had a simple vision: a land with a secret so powerful that it could unite the fantasy genre's most venal and hilarious creatures in bouts of excessive drinking and gambling. When artist James Boyle caught wind of these dark whispers, he was drawn in, and thus, Three Apparitions was born.
Hag Mag is the first project from Three Apparitions. It is a zine-style publication full of 5E compatible monsters, NPCs, and magic items, but with a robust adventure setting and story hooks that can be applied to any fantasy genre tabletop roleplaying game. All with a focus on what we feel are one of fantasy's most underrated creature archetypes - Hags!
What's Inside?
1 System-Neutral adventure setting - ripe with legends, lore, and backstory. Drop Witchwillow Bog into your campaign for 1 session, or stick around and uncover all the seedy secrets and colorful characters the land has to offer.
13 System-Neutral adventure hooks - all set in and around Witchwillow Bog and that can be used in any fantasy-style role-playing game.
10 new 5e compatible mundane weapons - such as mops, spoons, buckets, and the dreaded Oyster Midden Buckshot
9 new 5e compatible magic items - such as mops, spoons, and buckets… but magical!
5 new 5e compatible monster / NPC stat blocks - including 3 new CR 20+ EPIC HAGS, each with a backstory befitting such a heinous villain.
1 table for randomly generating Hag Cocktails - a new type of 5e compatible consumable magic item. There are literally millions of potential combinations of magical effects, crafting ingredients, and alcoholic potency
1 random Hag Name Generation table - 8,000 possible names!
Rules for a Snail Racing minigame - which can be played in-game, at a party, or in the alley behind your apartment for suspiciously stained $20s. Do what you want.
