Simone Morini VHS: TRASHBAG
What you are smelling is not a stench, but the smell of trash. Ok, maybe they are the same thing, but it is not just any pile of junk, oh no. It’s something “carefully assembled to throw you into the deep end of B-movies”. It even has the capital B!
VHS (Very Horror Stories)is a Horror Role Play Game inspired from ‘70’s till now classics such as Hellraiser, Nightmare, Alien, Halloween and many more, coming in six stand-alone boxed sets that allow you to play in a different subgenre of Horror each.
Bloodlust, slasher movies
Deadbreak, zombie horror
Overplague, sci-fi horror;
Remnants, ghost movies
Trashbag, horr-trash
Unchained, supernatural horror
VHS blends typical Roleplaying Game elements, like a strong narrative base and player characters, with boardgame staples such as boards and tokens. As a Roleplaying Game, players interpret a character whose sole goal is to survive the Monsters, with a Character Sheet, two 6-sided dice (the only ones you need to play) and their lust for life. On the other side, the game master acts as the game’s referee and director manages the interactions with Non Player Characters (Non Protagonist Actors) and the Monsters, who range from ruthless murderers to shape-shifting aliens, eldritch entities and so on. As a boardgame, instead, VHS features a game board, its Main Set (be it a swamp, a lost village, space station, etc), and tokens that portray the characters and their movements, points of interest and secondary locations your characters may discover by exploring the map.
Solo Play Mode
Although a Roleplaying Game built on the classic dynamic of game master-player interactions to build a narrative on, VHS premade films always specify whether or not they can be played Solo for a more personal horror experience... where nobody can hear you scream.
In Solo Mode, because there is no game master, some of the Main Set interactions, such as the placement of Side Sets, and the behavior of the Monster are determined randomly or by player action. There are, however, films in which events cannot be left to chance and, therefore, do not feature Solo Mode.
Deadbreak is the VHS dedicated to slasher movies and contains:
170+ pages rulebook (+10 premade Films)
4 Main Sets
40 Tokens
5 Premade Characters;
5 (plus an extra one) Premade Monsters
Digital pack with HD print files
Implementation guide for Roll20
