Simone F. Baumann ABC OF FEARS AND ANXIETies
Inspired by vintage kids books with the big letters & illustrations around them - but with a dark twist!
“Instead of A = Apple, in my ABC book you will find the nasty stuff like A = Acne, B = Buried alive and K = Kidnapping. Basically a whole variety cabinet of different Anxieties and Fears, each carefully illustrated and embedded in a story.”
Born 1997 in a suburb of Zurich, Switzerland, Simone started drawing in childhood years. After she failed all the rest of her subjects and quit regular school at 15, Simone attended an art school for a while, where she started to produce her very first comics. By the age of 18, Simone had already started publishing her own fanzine (later titled 2067) regularly, selling them to friends and at concerts and going to comic festivals.
Simone’s comics became quite autobiographical very fast. She personally finds this the most interesting branch of comics - though most of the time there is a surreal twist to her stories.
English language, but with a list of German and French translations in the back
Self-published by the artist

52 color pages
