Moebius 40 DAYS DANS LE DÉSERT B
New Hardcover Edition of the book that was originally published in 1999. The wordless story revolves around a shamanic figure (the Techno-Boudha) seated alone in the middle of a featureless desert landscape who whilst sitting in deep meditation is visited by many supernatural visions and soon the protagonist (and reader) are taken on a surreal transformative journey. The “40 days” in the title of this work is an allusion to the number of days and nights that the Abrahamic prophet Jesus (or Isa) is said to have spent fasting in the desert wilderness whilst resisting temptation.
For this fourth edition, texts written by Moebius accompany the drawings, thus offering some reading keys to those who will be carried away by this graphic meditation.
This edition is augmented by a notebook of color pages and accompanied by the original texts of Mœbius.

You don’t know Moebius?! Wait. Get your shit together! Grow up! Get a life, punk! Jean Giraud aka Moebius is the creator of some of the most iconic surrealistic and/or psychedelic comic books, and there is many other things in your life that have been inspired by his works, you just didn’t know that yet. He contributed storyboards to films like Aliens or Tron and collaborated with legendary avant-garde filmmaker Jodorowsky on an unproduced adaption of Dune and the comic book series The Incal. He was friends with Miyazaki, worked with George Lucas and was celebrated by Paolo Coelho and Federico Fellini.
Enough name dropping. I suggest to listen to Sleep or Om while reading 40 Days dans le Desert B. It’s the prefect soundtrack, and I wonder if Al Cisneros is a Moebius fan?
