“Around 2003, I recorded my own interpretation of Tolkien's worlds on a simple children's cassette recorder. The stories of The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit had made a huge impression on my childhood self, and I was completely captivated by Middle-earth and its heroes, villains, and fantastical landscapes. Fortunately, I read the first part of The Lord Of The Rings before seeing Peter Jackson's film adaptation. Jackson's films are magnificent - but so iconic that I think I would have struggled to develop my own mental images of the story had I encountered the films first.”
All sounds were created by manipulating, overdriving, and distorting a cassette recording made during childhood under the influence of Tolkien's worlds.
