Charles Burns CAPRICE
A master of a fantastic and fascinating world, Charles Burns has never hidden his passion for the comics of the 50s
Inspired by this often romantic aesthetic, the author of Dédales had fun creating a collection of covers of fictitious comics in which he integrates elements specific to his strange and organic universe.
In Caprice, he unveils around thirty unpublished illustrations conceived as so many potential books. The strength of his drawings thus offers a multitude of interpretations, and suggests to the reader to imagine the story that arises from each image. We find in this series a summary of the themes that run through all of his work: adolescence, metamorphosis, nightmares or even sexuality, which are here so many pretexts for the creation of mysterious and bewitching imagery. Published as a world exclusive, this book is the first issue of the new collection Kim.
