101 Dungeon Synth Albums You Must Hear... Before You Rot in a Dungeon: the dungeoneer's guide to the deeper vaults of knowledge.

“As an ex-admin of the main Facebook Dungeon Synth group, I can't recall how many times the question »I'm new to the genre, where should I start?« popped up over the years. A person asking this would normally post this query and be flooded with links to albums of various relevance, with many musicians trying to draw attention to their music. A few lists of important dungeon synth albums were created, too, but they remained just lists without reasons.

Now the waiting is over. A new listener gets a full map and can venture boldly through dungeons and visit every cell without missing treasures. Old and experienced adventurers get a chance to compare their ideas of what's important with what's in the book, and maybe discover a dungeon cell they've never heard about before.

It's not only a list, it's a comprehensive guide with descriptions (partly based on reviews in Dungeon Synth Zine aggregated over the years), as well as explanations what dungeon synth is, what are its characteristics, how to succeed in it, and the list of literary and gaming tropes that impregnated the imagination of musicians.

The door to the dungeon is open and only you decide if you're bold enough to enter or prefer to stay in the disgusting sun. We, trolls and goblins, wait for you there, with our maces, morningstars and flails, eyes glowing in the dark.” - Sebastian Wójcik
